FEATURES & OPTIONS
Jaguar’s innovative technology distinguishes XE as a leader in its class. State-of-the-art systems support safety, inform, warn and communicate. As the technology assists and empowers you XE comes alive, sensing the world and the hazards around you. XE assures a rewarding drive while helping you to stay safe.
Using technology pioneered in military jets, XE incorporates an optional Head-Up Display (HUD) that projects key information, onto the windscreen, directly in your line of vision. Using the latest, brightest laser display technology for maximum clarity, it allows you to reference your speed, see navigation turn-by-turn guidance and gear placement.
Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) monitors XE’s dynamic behaviour and intervenes if the system determines that the vehicle is unresponsive to the driver’s inputs. DSC reduces engine torque and/or applies braking to the appropriate wheels to correct the car’s direction of travel by counteracting understeer or oversteer. XE’s latest generation DSC system has enhanced understeer control to reduce speed and regain control more effectively.
XE even monitors road signs for you. Jaguar’s Traffic Sign Recognition technology can detect current speed limit signs to display them on both the instrument cluster and Head-Up Display (if fitted). This smart system is also aware of local conditional speed limits. When it’s raining, any mandatory lower speed limit will be displayed until the rain stops. If you are towing, the appropriate legal speed limit will be shown. ‘No Overtaking’ signs also display in the instrument cluster.
In an emergency braking situation, XE is ready. Utilising a forward facing camera, should a potential collision be detected, XE beeps a ‘forward collision’ warning, giving you time to take action. A visual warning in the Head-Up Display (if fitted) and instrument cluster follows. If no action is taken, with a collision still anticipated, the system then applies the brakes to help reduce the severity of a possible impact.
XE’s Lane Departure Warning System will sense if you drift out of the lane you are currently travelling in. A forward facing camera detects lane markings and warns you by vibrating the steering wheel if you stray from a lane without indicating.
Jaguar’s extended range Blind Spot Monitoring technology identifies when a vehicle is in your blind spot and also senses vehicles approaching XE at high speed. An icon in your door mirror flashes as a vehicle closes, becoming a solid icon as it enters your blind spot.
For effortless long distance driving, Adaptive Cruise Control will maintain a pre-set gap between you and the vehicle in front. If it slows, so will XE; if they accelerate, or turn off, XE will return to your pre-set cruising speed. For an even more relaxed driving experience, optional Queue Assist allows XE to come to a complete stop when it reaches a traffic queue, easing the strains of stop/start traffic. It also makes XE’s cruise control effective in most traffic conditions. (Adaptive Cruise Control is optional on automatic transmissions only).
Jaguar’s unique All Surface Progress Control (ASPC) gives XE drivers added confidence in slippery conditions; whether starting from a snowy driveway, parking on an icy incline, or even towing on wet grass. XE’s ASPC is a low speed cruise control, operating at speeds between 2.2mph and 18.6mph, that helps XE to cope with low traction situations whatever the weather and allows drivers to concentrate on steering the vehicle. ASPC is available on all engines fitted with automatic transmissions.
